Alright ReachMahjong.com is back.
Or is it?
Honestly, I want it to be back and I’m going to try to bring it back, but between managing multiple YouTube channels, playing my pro matches and trying to get some training time in, I don’t know how often I can update.
But here’s one for ya!

Last summer, World Riichi started covering real, professional mahjong matches in Japan, with English commentary! This is the first time entire series have been covered in English and it’s been an amazing project!
Core commentators include Dave (USPML, WRPM), Jenn (JPML), Nathanael (WRPM), Corak (WRPM), Chiral, Tipzntrix, Harrison and a few more. Gemma (WRPM) also joins in, but with WRC and family obligations she’s been on a bit of a commentary hiatus. We can’t wait until she comes back though!

There are also some amazing docuseries videos coming out in the next couple months that you won’t want to miss, featuring World Riichi pro players in Japan!

The first series World Riichi is covering is the Sankei Shimbun Cup Women’s League. This happens once or twice a month and features 60 different teams, spread across 15 groups. Team WRC is also playing in the tournament and they will be on the featured table on the August 15th broadcast so you absolutely do not want to miss that! Make sure you subscribe and turn on notifications here.

Another great series you can catch on the World Riichi YouTube channel is the Saikyosen Team Battle! The regular season will be wrapping up with an August 1st and 2nd broadcast, but the finals will happen in November and they are going to be even more exciting than the regular matches. Make sure you watch in August to see which team is eliminated!

If you have watched all the coverage on the WRC Channel and still want more, make sure to subscribe to the Japan Professional Mahjong League English Channel! Since this past May, JPML has been providing commentary for JPML matches in the form of JPML Select, where we go over older matches, as well as live com

Pro series has moved from the JPML main page to the JPML English page and episodes are re-uploaded every week. If we get enough views and likes, we may be able to revive the series! The WRC 2025 Tokyo was also broadcast on this channel.

The final channel you’ll definitely want to follow for professional mahjong content in English, is the mahjongjen Channel. The best series on this channel is Proast, where Jenn, Garthe and guest from JPML. Updates are scheduled twice a month, but with editing for so many other channels, the schedule isn’t always kept. I (Jenn) also sometimes livestream my games from this channel. So hurry up and subscribe right now!!

So while I work on updating the terminology and updating this website, make sure you’re following all three of these YouTube channels so you always get the best and highest quality professional mahjong coverage, in English, right when it’s published!
