Gemma’s Journal #17 – Teaching Week Three

Progress wasn’t great this week for that very reason. However, it wasn’t a total loss! Rather than me telling them how to do it, instead I got them to teach each other. Hopefully this worked well to reinforce everything.

Well unfortunately we had a week break so I found myself looking at blank faces now. I guess this is my opportunity to emphasize how important frequent practice is at the beginning. It really is surprising how much people will forget with a two week gap.

So we had to go over the stuff we’d done:

  • -What a hand was
  • -Winds
  • -Peace Hand

I also went over the lucky tile (dora) Of course, not too much of an issue. Just getting the order of the dragons and the winds correct.

Haven’t got much to share with you on this teaching week unfortunately! An important lesson learned though: Schedule more practices!

Happy teaching!
