Jenn’s Corner #20: Spreading the Joy

It’s hard to believe I haven’t updated this column since December. So unacceptable. It’s not like I haven’t been working though. Besides spending 8-12 hours a day playing Mahjong and Poker, Garthe and I succeeded in moving up to D1 (no news for you guys since we’ve been announcing it all over the place on our sites) and also have started a ton of new projects that we can announce slowly throughout the year.
It’s another year of traveling coming up and also trying to keep up with JPML tournaments back at home. In June, Garthe and I will be joining our mentor, Shigekazu Moriyama in Germany for the first Open European Riichi Mahjong Championship. We’re also going to Macau in September for the World Series of Mahjong. We really want to meet any loyal RM readers while we’re out and about so don’t hesitate to contact us (use the contact link on this page) if you’re somewhere we’re gonna be.
Reach Mahjong is spreading through the world and we are working hard to make sure there is ample information available in English about this great game.
I hope everyone is reading Andy’s blog and enjoying our podcasts. Gem is getting into her new job and missing the internet, so we’ll get her weekly What Would You Discard back up sometime this month. I might be taking over until we get her back. We miss you Gem!!!
We’ll also be starting a new Guest Column this week. Shintaro Kamimura, our good friend that invites us to tournaments every few months and has moved up through the rankings in JPML at an amazing speed has written a column exclusively for ReachMahjong.com! The column will be translated and put up on the site in both Mr. Kamimura’s native Japanese and English for all of us to enjoy.
Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see on our site. We also have a comprehensive worldwide tournament schedule up so if you know about a tournament or are planning on having one, let us know!
