I'm sure mine is pretty minimal - but we must start somewhere.
The first set on the left is my original starter set given to me several years ago. It doesn't have the nice two-tone tiles and it prints the numbers on the tiles. I use this set only with absolute beginners. You'll might not notice that I hand-painted red-fives in this set. The set on the right is my Riichi set. I love it but admit that the tiles are just a little small for my tastes. Apparently 26mm x 20mm x 16mm is roughly correct for a standard Riichi set but maybe my hands are just a little too clumbsy. It's well pained and very uniform. The middle set is my most recent acquisition and while not a Riichi set it has that nice two-tone look and a bigger tile which suits me really well. I haven't painted the red fives in this set yet.
My book collection is equally small. I tend to get a lot of my information from good guides on the interwebs. Most of the books I find locally are for American mahjong (what's with the hand cards changing every year?! oh well...).
ps: if you need a place to store an image to display here on the site, just send me a message and I'm happy to host it.
