Hi everyone!
I\'m actually learning about the scoring of Riichi Mahjong, but I\'m a bit confused about that two terms: Yaku and Fan (or Han), I\'d want know if that terms are synonymous, or if they have two different meanings.. :unsure:

A yaku is a pattern or criteria which, if met, is worth han.
For example, toitoihou is a yaku, which is worth two han.

I would say:

Yaku = Pattern

Han = Point(s)

A \"han\" (or \"fan\") in a \"double\". Roughly speeking, each han you have double your points (called \"fu\").

A \"yaku\" is a pattern which allow you to win the hand. It also gives you one or more han.
