Score this hand

My wife\'s last hand of the evening was this masterpiece but I was at a loss as to whether I was scoring it correctly, and what the payouts would be.

She\'s North in the last East Round, the chi of bams was open so the hand is not closed. FWIW, the dora was the 9-crak. She ronned off of East.

My thinking is that she has the san ankou - three concealed pons, and chinitsu for a total of 7 yaku, a Haneman. What would the payout be?

It\'s haneman so it would be 12,000 to pay. Tere is optional yaku you can count, its called sanrenkou for pon\'s that are like in this situation: 666-777-888. Its\' worth 2fan, but not many players use it (afaik). If you count sanrenkou it would be 9fan =baiman for 16,000 point

It depends on which tile East discarded, because for Sanankou (and Suuankou), if you ron to complete a koutsu, that does not count as an ankou.

Thus, if East discarded a 9-bam for her to ron, she would have chin\'iisou (5) + sanankou (2) = 7 han, haneman, 12,000 points.
But if East discarded a 6-bam, 7-bam, or 8-bam for her to ron, she would only have chin\'iisou for 5 han, mangan, 8,000 points.

So the three pons are not all considered concealed if one of them is completed on ron/mahjong?

I figure 30 fu - 4 fan (concealed on discard, pinfu, concealed mixed triple chow and a dora.

If she won off of 7-crak, she doesn\'t score for pinfu (because 7-crak completes a pair, not a chow). I think.

Discard always matter: when you count \"fu\". Also when you are checking yaku, especially pinfu (and in few other examples). Pinfu must have openwait (ryanmen-machi), other way it wont be counted (tanki-machi -waiting for head, and penchan and kanchan, when you wait to complete sequence by only one possibility). That why because Pinfu is \"no fu\" hand, and for waits like those in brackets you get 2fu. So if it is Pinfu you will get 30fu (pinfu=always 30fu n ron, and 20fu on tsumo), and 2fan for concealed sanshoku, 1fan for pinfu(if the discard was right), 1fan for dora, and you dont get 1fan for menzen tsumo, because it only for tsumo, not ron. You would get additional fu for it, but not here cos its pinfu.
So 30fu 4fan = 7700

I knew about that, somewhere in the recesses of the dank, cluttered recesses of my mind. So, the discard certainly does matter if a pinfu is to be credited.
