This hand is the closest I have been yet so far.
With a copy of both terminals having discarded by the third go-around, I managed to draw the case 9 a few turns later. Late in the hand, the second ippin was thrown away and I had to abandon course. PON! Discarded the random tile I still had left. Next go around I draw a 2 and throw the 8, and then Shimocha threw a 4. RON! Just Chinitsu.
Good enough to secure second place (this was in Oorasu), which is a shame because I was hit as oya in East-3 with a Riizumo Dora 8 baiman, and this would have made a great comeback. Oh well.

It's pretty special just to get that close to such a rare hand.
Last night I was looking up clips from the Japanese TV show The WAREME De PON.
(They have their own parlour in Judgment, the new video-game from the Yakuza studio.)
The first video I saw has one of the celebrity contestants landing Nine Gates.
