rinshan kaihou (not quite saki-like, but almost)

Post by or2az » Fri Jan 23, 2015 9:29 pm

I started the 5th turn with this hand. 111-66-234-發發..........中中中(melded)
East discarded a 1m. Kan. (daimankan)
Supplemental tile is a chun (red dragon). Kan. (shominkan)
Supplemental tile is a 6 dot. Tsumo. Rinshan Kaihou.
First time that ever happened. Not a lot of points but I was curious about something.
Was the reason that the points were split among the 3 opponents instead of just East being responsible because the pao rule is optional and my game doesn't use it? We had a nice discussion about this in Kana vs Koromo. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=53345#p58147

Yes, the practice of sekinin barai regarding rinshan kaihou is rather rare these days.
