Okay,
I'm just back from a long weekend of gaming at a Bed & Breakfast in central PA. This is traditionally a long weekend of boardgaming but I've managed to sneak in some Riichi Mahjong (about 12 hours of it!). My wife and I taught 7 new players the game - all of whom enjoyed it and many of whom are asking when they can play again or where they can get a good set of tiles. This is a warm-up for a larger gathering event where I plan to spread the joys of Riichi to as many people as will listen (but probably in the 15-20 player range).
Here is a pic of us playing on Saturday night. The gentleman in the black shirt is Alan R. Moon (designer of the award winning Ticket to Ride boardgame). I'm the goofy looking one opposite Alan.
