Hi,

I am going on holidays to japan and I was wondering where to find a good place to play mahjong (July till mid August).
I prefer not to gamble or at least not for big money (I am a student). If anyone can suggest me any nice place around
Tokyo or Osaka it would be really helpfull. I would be also thankful if I could meet someone in japan who speaks english and
shows me some good junsos.

I am looking forward for any help.

You will also want to find 3 players to go with to the parlor. Sounds like you're not fluent in Japanese, so it could be difficult to just find a pickup game.

If you are in Osaka, go to the Marchao at Umeda (third floor of Chayamachi Building) and subtly ask the staff about their Saikouisen meetings.

They rent a Jansou room once a week at Osaka's e-sou and play an amateur-pro league for only 500Y a game. The people in there are really nice and friendly, there are some beginner level players, and you also get to play with some professional players from Saikouisen in a league-like system.

Ask about Imamura Junpei.
