If you choose not to reach, should you still ron?

Examples -
A: You\'ve got a pinfu-only hand, with a pesky 789 keeping you away from the tanyao. boo.
B: tanyao-dora hand, but a 4-6 inner wait. boo again.
So, you think in both cases, \"Hey, I won\'t reach, look how much better this hand can get!\"
so you don\'t reach.
But then, you 1. draw the tile that wins it or 2. another player ditches it.
in each case, would you take the win, or just let it pass? (A1,A2,B1,B2)
- just another \'no-longer-a-noob, but now much better\' mahjong player who can\'t find any reading material to help with the getting-better bits
