another riichi flash game

Post by or2az » Sat Aug 29, 2015 5:49 am

As mentioned in another thread, I have found that my most recently discovered android mahjong app is also available as a flash game on a pc.
http://www.web-jong.com/

A description and translation, provided by Ignatius, is here: http://reachmahjong.com/en/forum/viewto ... 150#p58791

If you don't mind losing the english, this one might be better than that other one. http://www.gamedesign.jp/flash/mahjong/mahjong_e.html
It has a tile counter, uses red fives, and has 3 CPU levels. The tiles even look bigger.

If this information is new to you, check it out.

I tiried it and was quite cool. Good visuals, sound, big tiles, game ran smoothly...

It was fun to play. Maybe I should download the android version.
Life is as beautiful as you want it to be, but it´s only one. That´s why you must not get tired of it. Don´t care if you don´t say something that seems "important" because your mere existence is important for someone.

I just found another flash game by the same developer, very similar to the one above, but not the same.
No choosing of avatar opponents and no highlighting of possible discard tiles when calling riichi.
No android version for this one.

#2) http://www.e-folder.co.jp/mahjong/
Scroll to the bottom and hit the play button.

Again, if this info is new to you, check it out.
If you have played them both, I am curious as to which you like better, above or below.
#1) http://www.web-jong.com/

Comparing both of these flash games by the same developer;
(Translation help again by Ignatius. http://reachmahjong.com/en/forum/viewto ... 819#p58819)

The 1st one lets you pick level 3 strong CPU immediately, the 2nd makes you wait until you win 3 matches.

The 1st one shows your hand and the hands of riichi callers when you win. The 2nd will show all players hands at the END of each hand but you have to win 6 matches before you can choose this option. Strange rule. I like this option but I think I'm going to have to play for quite a while to win 6 matches on this game.

The 1st one lets you choose to show all players hands DURING each hand immediately while the 2nd makes you win 10 matches before you can choose this option. Don't know why I would do this anyway. Seems like cheating, except maybe for a novice, who wants to learn by watching his opponents, but by the time he wins 10 matches on this game, he might not be a novice any more. Very odd condition.

The 1st one also will not unlock characters if you win with this option, which is understandable. I still have no idea if these characters have different strengths and abilities. I mean, why use 40 characters if they are just pictures?

If anyone ever finds out any more relating to this, let me know.

P.S.
The only drawback of the game is it keeps no records.
At least the 2nd game tells you how many matches you've won, but so far I like the 1st one better, although I'm finding it more difficult to win in both of these games (CPU level 2) than in the KIWAME app or the TENGOKUHAI app.
Two rules that I am having to adjust to are dobon and shānyū. The game continues with negative scores and you can win without attaining 30k points.
I was not aware that the shānyū rule was an optional one and doesn't have to be in effect. Every other game seems to use it.

although I'm finding it more difficult to win in both of these games (CPU level 2) than in....
After more disasters than I care to remember, I began to realize that I have to play some serious defense in order to win matches in these two flash games. My game then started to improve and now, at least, I have a fighting chance.

I play hanchans in game #1 above and east round only in game #2, for variety. I like #1 better. There are different character voices and thunder and lightning when someone scores mangan or better. There's also better graphics and some congratulatory music and words that make you feel good when you come in 1st, although I have no idea what she's saying.
If you’re the top player in an East only game, you'll unlock 1 character, if you're the top player in an East/South game you’ll unlock 2 new characters (up to a total of 40)
(translated into english by Ignatius http://reachmahjong.com/en/forum/viewto ... 150#p58796)

After 3 weeks of play, (I did stop to eat and sleep), I finally won 12 hanchan to unlock the 24 remaining characters. You start with 16.

I only won 6 tonpussen in the other game and it wasn't easy. (http://reachmahjong.com/en/forum/viewto ... 421#p58835)
Unlocked this minor achievement.
・トップ6回取ると局終了時の他家手牌オープンが可能となります。 If you get to the top 6 times you can choose to show all players hands at the end of each hand.
(Ignatius again)

In conclusion, and naturally, my opinion,
http://www.web-jong.com/
If you don't mind losing the english, this game is better than that other popular flash game.
It has a tile counter, uses red fives, and has 3 CPU levels. The tiles even look bigger.

Very nice, and more fun than gamedesign.jp. It's still rigged as hell, but overall feels more comprehensible.
