You should add +20k pts for mahjong manga/anime cosplay.
Sounds good, you'll have to report back afterwards. Given the location (near Chicago), I was going to suggest that you post on the USPML forums too but I see you have that covered already.

Under Wareme if your wall section was broken you usually pay double on an opponent's tsumo win too.Kyuu wrote:* Warame enabled (The person's wall that is broken in the deal; if he wins, gets payed double, if someone ron off of him, he pays double)

LOL on the cosplay. I may have to break out my "neko-mimmi" (and get partial). Posted 4-5 other mahjong related threads across that many forums.Barticle wrote:Under Wareme if your wall section was broken you usually pay double on an opponent's tsumo win too.
But anyways, I'll make the note to our tournament host guy (and it ain't me). And hmm, a report; yea, it'll be good to get that done as well.
Re: Anime Central Tournament (2012)
These rules are unusual game to me; a few of these are different from anything else I have seen.
If you do, it should be added only after all oka, uma, and so on; since cosplay is not really a part of the game.Barticle wrote:You should add +20k pts for mahjong manga/anime cosplay. :)

Where did this come from, I can tell that everything else (aside from ryanhan-shibari after 2 repeats) can be set as an option in your favorite H-jan game. Is this some kind of attempt of enforcing sakizuke play without realistically understanding the concept ?
I was almost thinking of coming (bussing to Chicago isn't impossible) until I saw the rule list. I'm not going to wish any ill will to the event but it's really not my cup of tea. If you have a fantasy ruleset you want to apply in a tournament setting, let us know what club (more than a basement affair) plays with these rules consistently. AFAIK, there aren't any. (The logical conclusion would be to stop doing it, but enjoy that free country thing of doing as you please)
Do let us know the outcome and the number of players, though.

Re: Anime Central Tournament (2012)
Well. Apparently, we'll be using the Standard rules for the main tournament. However, for the "Finals" table, the posted special rules will apply.

No offence to Mr. Horton, but I am fairly certian that I was 4th place at the tournament. That is me (Ryan Crain) sitting at the table in the lower right of the picture (getting my butt handed to me, I may add). I still carry the little Reachmahjong.com tile keychain that I received.
I guess it is not really a big deal, but it was my first tournament and it would be neat seeing my name listed!

The mistake was likely my fault (actually, it was my fault), as we failed to note your real name tagged with your badge name. While score tracking, we used badge names, but failed to connect them to real names. So, it got a bit confusing as to who was who. Yea, the mistake was embarrassing.
Btw, have you been playing online since then?
Re: Anime Central Tournament (2012)
Oh it is alright. I understand that things can go weird. No hard feelings!
I have not really been playing much recently... I should go fix that.

So uh, about that correction...
Is there something I need to do?

Oh okay! Thanks for the quick reply.
If I was not in the southern end of the state, I would totally be there. Good luck though!
