This kept coming up when I was searching earlier.

A hand-made high-end mahjong tile-set priced at 795k UKP (currently over one million US$).

The tiles and dice are made from solid ruby ("carving it represents a challenging endeavor in which only the gifted and strong of body and mind achieve success"!) - with inset diamonds and rubies - and the chips are mother-of-pearl, all enclosed in gold vermeil.

This auction-house listing for the same shows the plain but nicely curved case. Mahogany with ebony veneer of course.

Kinda fancy!

No red fives though so you'll have to hand-paint them. ;)

PS Just noticed there's also a video linked showing the manufacture.

Four weeks after seeing this and I'm still getting served ads on Facebook and Reddit for posh chess and backgammon sets.

I guess they'll lose interest eventually and start spamming me with different things I also don't want...

You mean if you looked at one fancy board game set you're NOT interested in ALL fancy board game sets?

Joke's on them, mahjong isn't even a board game (unless you count junk mats).
