Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
Inkscape is a fine, free drawing package: http://www.inkscape.org/
I used it to make my own (Chinese only) mahjong card deck.

Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
I like to use ImageMagick. (I have used ImageMagick to make a spider tarot deck, but ImageMagick could be used for mahjong as well)
Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
Hello to all
I will certainly try to see those two soft packages, thanks.
Do both support JPG image upload and resizing card, and also multi card print?
The reason I'm asking is:
- I believe I found the JPG database of my cards in an old backup
- I want to make them Magic the gathering size, so people can use the protectors and avoid marked cards due to use and change the protectors when needed.
- I wish to make a full PDF to exchange with people (I have Adobe Writter) with as many cards as possible,
and including markers, yakitori and "money" sticks for easy print!
Cheers

I don't know about Inkscape, but ImageMagick does support both things. (ImageMagick is probably more difficult to use than other softwares though, because you have to learn all of the commands, and it has no GUI, because it is command-line based.)ryulusus wrote:I will certainly try to see those two soft packages, thanks.

Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
Hmmmm interesting
I will have to make a real good indepth practice on them
Mind you this is a project i have set up to do (it's a matter of honour now).
I have already requested a Mahjongmart Card Deck to play.
I'm doing this to have the complete monty of possibilities for easy printing further on.
BTW: is the lady of these forums named Jennifer Kuddo?
Cheers

Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
I feel less bad about the lack of wedding invitation now!
So, how are the cards? What extras do you get in addition to the standard 136?

Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
the cards are very small, which requires careful handling.
They have a nice green small cardboard to pack them, but again careful handling is in order.
You get value sticks, very very small and fragile. 4 chicken sticks and a wareme, and 3 x red fives. Can't remember anything else.
the drawing are nice
basically standard stuff with some extras but they require really careful handling, or you'll be asking for another 2 week sending soon

Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
Hey Luis. I just found this nice set of custom MJ cards (when I was searching for something else)...

I know you're keen to make your own designs but I thought you might find it informative.

Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
Hi Barticle.
Thanks a lot, I see that other people got involved in doing it as well.
it's basically what I want to do, raised to a higher level. And a more artistic way
I also, as I said, wanted to have them in MtG size, so that they could be printed out
in normal paper and then protected with the MtG (or other) card protection sleeves.
That way one could actually achieve the accolade of shuffling the damn deck in each game
But seriously, I'm compiling a revision of the deck list, since it has grown after Tom's help.
Btw, can we upload files here?
Cheers

Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
It took me a while to find it, but yes there's an Upload Attachment option.ryulusus wrote:Btw, can we upload files here?
It's on the second tab under the Save / Preview / Submit buttons when you're composing a message.
