Re: WWYD 27 Oct 2012

hmm, I see what you're saying. The 113 dot can be completed with six tiles (112222) and then you can riichi on the 6-bam 7-bam with seven tiles available (5555888), a total of 13 good tiles, since at this point, you lose the option of using the 2-crack . However, if we pick up the 2-crak first, then...

Re: WWYD 27 Oct 2012

Why not just discard the 3-dot
The 667 bam can be completed with eight tiles ( 55556888) and then riichi for the win on the 2-crak or 1-dot
That's a total of 12 good tiles in play. Seems quick and painless.
Am I missing something?

Re: A question about tenpai?

I understand now. Even though the tanyao win was unattainable due to the exposed terminal chow, I could still tsumo or ron the 2-dot or 5-dot on the last tile or last discard and win, so technically, every one-away-from-complete hand is one away from winning because you still have that last shot at ...

A question about tenpai?

I have a question about the exact definition of tenpai. Does it mean that you are one tile away from winning or one tile away from having a complete hand, because these two conditions do not seem to be the same thing. For example, Suppose I have the following fictitious hand needing 2 tiles for all ...

Re: WWYD 2013-09-23

Stay concealed. It's early in the hand. Discard your most isolated tiles like the 2-crak and 2-bam , and possibly the 8-dot , depending on what develops, and aim for riichi. Best case scenario: You get lucky, pick up another :south along the way, and tsumo with at least 3 dora. Worst case scenario: ...

Re: severely in need of an english translation!

Believe me, with 10 characters, each having their own set of victory conditions, everything helps.
Thanks for your input. Both of you.

Re: severely in need of an english translation!

Thanks! That was a big help. How about these? The 2nd just started appearing after i updated the app. The 1st and 3rd have to do with scoring. They are very similar. Sometimes both buttons appear, sometimes only one does. It looks like they both say the same thing.

Re: Mini-Review of iOS Kiwame Professional Mahjong

Mission Accomplished: The final door has been unlocked As expected, it led to the rooms of the last two characters. "Eizo" uses two haku pocchi white dragons and only two red fives, both dots and you must win all 3 matches for an A. "Sotaro" disallows the bankruptcy rule and kan ura dora, which is o...

Re: Mini-Review of iOS Kiwame Professional Mahjong

Got really lucky and was able to test the Haku Pocchi option in this game. Was playing the room of the "Midori" character and became tenpai, waiting on the 2-dot or the 5-dot . Called riichi and was able to tsumo on the special white-dra. This room has a fixed ruleset which uses only one of the whit...
