Re: oh boy!

You found the answer already, but yes. The dora indicator is saying: "Add one han for each 5-pin in your winning hand". And the ura-dora indicator is saying: "Now add another han for each 5-pin in your hand". If the 5-pin were red (I don't know if you're using those), then, that'd be dora 3 by itsel...

Re: Yakuman Club Revisited

I still have issue with the second of those combinations, but whatever. This is a game with multiple rule details to be set between the players.

Re: Yakuman Club Revisited

You would have gotten Suu Ankou ONLY if you drew the white to call Tsumo. If calling ron, that triplet is considered open, and you get just Toitoi Sanankou (plus Shousangen. No dora because the kandora indicator wouldn't have been flipped).

Re: Starting game points

Yeah, a noten riichi... That is weird. I'm not sure I like this rule. How does a hand become dead after riichi? Wrong number of tiles can't be the case, since you don't change the hand after the declaration... In any case, I would say that my hand becoming dead is my responsibility, and thus I shoul...

Re: Starting game points

But everyone was Tenpai, not Noten! You reached! And you know better than to do a noten riichi. ;)

Re: Starting game points

Something is not OK on this chart... East 1. Oya wins a small tsumo, North reached. East 1-1. South wins on oya's discard, with a riichi stick from West. East 2. Null hand. Presumably an exhaustive draw since there is a stick thrown from (original) East. All four players were tenpai. So far so good....

Re: Overview of current mahjong video-games

Ah, yes. That makes sense. The other thing that led me to sanankou on the cursory glance was those turned face-down tiles, that for me screamed concealed (by analogy with an ankan). But then if it had been concealed you would probably have reached. Kazoe Yakuman, even without hitting the ura. Nice h...

That sanbaiman... At first I thought "if only you would have got tsumo..." then I realized my mistake. :P

Re: severely in need of an english translation!

Yes, that is how Agariyame should work. With respect to Oyanagare, My understanding is like this (but this is were my slight uncertainty resides) - Nashi (ie, never flow, always renchan if it is a draw) - Flow if Noten - Flow (this would make all exhaustive draws rotate winds) But play with this for...

Re: severely in need of an english translation!

- Agariyame
- I'm only 95% sure on this, but it has to do with renchan on draws.
- Head Bump / Double Ron
- As you say, uma
- Kuitan
- Kuikae

Re: Open/closed question

You are right, it refers to the whole hand. The only ones that care only about the specific sets are sanankou and suuankou. Similarly, with something like sanshoku, it will be 1 han if the hand is open, even if the sets themselves are not. If you have any more questions, don't worry. Everyone here w...

Re: Declaring Ron for a chi question

Good question, and welcome to this game. The answer is that yes, you can claim Ron from anyone, not just your kamicha, even if the winning tile goes into a Chii set. :D
