Re: Krabman's Tenhou adventures

I went with 6m and dealt to Oya 11 600 :D Even though he discarded that Dora, he still had a pair of 5m, one of them being red xD His wait was 69m. Yeah, I wanted to keep that Haku for Sho Sangen/defense.

Re: Differences between real life and online mahjong?

People who I play/have played with are easy going & indulgent. They aren't bothered much by stuff like that. Especially in friendly games. Surely, you will occasionally meet snob players or even total assholes but I think they're rare. Even if you make some mistakes, you will USUALLY be politely cor...

Re: Differences between real life and online mahjong?

Great answer by Senechal! I think you just gotta be aware of everything going on around you & in your hand. Make sure to practice counting points, especially fu. It's always nice to play with people who do it swiftly. You can practice on your own, scoring random hands. Hmmmm... actually, since you'r...

Re: Interesting read, and pushing midgame

Nice! I guess 14p in this case seem more dangerous because solid players won't USUALLY break up 556/455 so early. Unless they already have a clear pair and a low shanten hand. Have you searched your logs for more situations like that one to say how often this read works? Thanks for sharing your thou...

Haneman Hunters club games

Hey! Since we finally have 4 cameras to record our Mahjong games, I've decided to create a separate topic for those videos. I'm not sure how often I'll post but it should be fairly frequently. No full games, just short videos with interesting situations. Here's one for starters... https://www.youtub...

I'm sure there's a bunch of people that would love to watch your games, Dan. Including me!

The best Polish player streams games every Sunday at 7 pm (GMT+1).

Re: Mahjong Book by Whitney

It's a pretty cool book. I used to have one and even translated the whole strategy section to Polish on my blog.

It introduces some useful strategic concepts that newbies may not be aware of. I've never got to read the part about Mahjong rules but it seemed to be quite elaborate.

Re: Krabman's Tenhou adventures

No problem! I wonder what other players will say.

Yeah I kept that South for too long. The rule of thumb is: either discard a fishy Wind instantly, or keep it to the end. I could've discarded 4s earlier, instead of 78m. This could've been Junchan, Ippeiko with a bit of luck.

Re: Krabman's Tenhou adventures

Good point about E3-1. I'm wondering if 4s wouldn't be the best discard there.

E2-0 By safe tile you mean 6m? I thought winning that hand was highly unlikely so I favored dama there.

Re: Discarding techniques tutorial

Hello! I've made a new video. It's not about discarding techniques but I didn't want to create another topic.

Pretty basic stuff, so I did it mostly for fun, but maybe someone will find it useful :)
