One of the guys. Probably Akagi, because that guy is an uncanny natural. Saki will end with +/-0

Re: open pinfu (jumbo shrimp)

What I meant is that it simplifies the calculation, if done by head. If you go by charts, I agree it's not a simplification. Anyway, I agree it should be 25-2.

Which it may seem so but it is NOT equivalent. IMHO, 50-1 for Chiitoi is apocryphal, and just an unnecessary simplification of calculations. Because now... Menchin Chiitoi? 25-8 (baiman), or 50-7 (haneman)?

Re: open pinfu (jumbo shrimp)

I saw this thing somewhere else. It put it in the form of a chart. With pinfu-shape (four sequences, double-sided wait, no scoring pair) RON TSUMO OPEN 22* 22* CLOSED 30 20 Without pinfu-shape RON TSUMO OPEN 20 22 CLOSED 30 22 And then add fu for triplets, pair, or wait. * Since no more fu are added...

Re: open pinfu (jumbo shrimp)

This is interesting. I thing the 2 fu for "open fu-less" ("open pinfu" is very painful to read!) should stay. Menzen Pinfu is 20 fu, and it's the only thing that should ever be (yes, 2 han minimum). Now, for things like kuitan dake, with no fu for pair or wait... You are wanting to be 20-1? That's a...

That, I agree. Yakuman is always nice.

Re: the "other" san shoku

A pair of ones would work, but it is a bit overkill. A pair of Easts or Souths would have been enough. (Toitoi, Sanshoku dokou, Honroutou, Dora dora for a Baiman).

Re: I broke the game!

Found a bug. Ideally, you shouldn't be allowed to chi because then you have no discard available, so the option shouldn't be there. In a RL game this thing wouldn't have happened in the first place, because it's not like one could accidentally shout "chi!" at that point. Anyway, if you call that 9s,...

Re: Our first tournament - questions.

16 players is ideal for 5 rounds, I don't know if you would have the time necessary to do that. Three opponents times five equals 15 (that's all of them!) After that, you can have a final table if you wish. If you want something grander and have the time, two final tables and top two of each into th...

Re: Our first tournament - questions.

Well, if it is full knockout then what is the point of messing with uma? Top two advance, bottom two are left out...

It would help a bit knowing how many players you expect, and how many rounds you want to play.

Re: What would you do?

I may end up 3rd is South is ronned by RHO, and it is 5200+ (40/3 or higher)

Me: 34400 - 5500 = 28900
Right: 21900 + 5500 + 2000 = 29400

Re: What would you do?

I would be the next oya, except that would be in West-1, and the game is over. If oya is positive for noten-bappu, he gets a renchan (so if everyone is tenpai, game over). If the dealer wins, he gets a renchan (unless he gets enough of a big win, since this game has the agari-yame rule, or he happen...

Re: What would you do?

Five tiles remaining, that's why I agonized so much.

One 5-dot discarded, 9-dot is fresh.

Center's discards:
4-crak 7-crak 5-crak 1-crak 7-bam 6-crak
1-dot 9-crak :east 8-dot 8-crak red-dra
3-bam :north 6-bam

Plus a 2-crak somewhere that was ponned by oya.
