Re:Dealer continuance & 5 sticks

No it\'s not hard to change one version. But it\'s not easy to change each translation and many players will be afraid of change. Actually, that would be solved by simply releasing an errata; something the EMA\'s done at least once already. But maybe that is too hard . Seriously, an errata release ...

Re:Dealer continuance & 5 sticks

I don\'t like to critize Tina\'s work because, with so few thorough English sources on the web, the EMA rulebook is hugely useful to anyone seeking to learn the Japanese rules. Certainly when I was learning the game it was a constant source of reference for me. However it\'s precisely because there...

Re:Dutch Red 5 Tournament

Player experience is probably the most important factor in how long time it takes to play one hand, I\'d say the lack of fast yaku are a major part as well - removing open tanyao means that a lot of hands will see a draw, which prolongs the games something fierce. But yes, player experience - which...

no, it\'s read fuhoutou; at least with the kanji you gave me in the initial post.

Re:Two quick/random questions (kanji and wait types)

You appear to be living up to your user-name!
Yeah, sorry - that was supposed to be a link, but it seems it got lost somewhere. The reading is indeed fuōtō, which you can see here: http://jisho.org/kanji/details/%E4%B8%8 ... E%E7%B5%B1

edit: lovely forums. fuhoutou, then, or fuhootoo.

Re:Riichi yaku/scoring quick reference.

You try to make yourself look and feel superior Superior, posterior, interior, inferior, anterior, EXCELSIOR, exterior but not misbehaviour, junior, senior, prior, ulterior and warrior! Who said I\'m trying ? Teehee *winking smileyface* My comment was made because it was clear that he posted withou...

Re:Riichi yaku/scoring quick reference.

You might want to change Ippatsu and Double Reach too (although Ippatsu is a Yaku in its own right).
Again; it\'s really not, but it\'s obvious you people don\'t care.

Re:Two quick/random questions (kanji and wait types)

\"Nagashi Mangan o Mangan yaku tosuru\"
\"Ippatsu o 1 han yaku tosuru\".
tosuru means \"regard as\", not \"is\". Meaning that \"If it happens, payment is the same as a mangan yaku.\" Ippatsu isn\'t a yaku either, it\'s a bonus.

Re:Two quick/random questions (kanji and wait types)

It´s Nagashi Mangan!

It´s obvious when you think about it - it´s a Yaku without a wait.
nagashi mangan isn\'t a yaku, it\'s a kind of ryuukyoku.

Re:Mahjong cat cartoons

That or looking in Pixiv\'s terms of use what they said about users\' rights/allowed with content posted. Users\' rights? But you\'re not users here - you\'re the pirates. You have no right to post these cartoons, given that copyright lies with the one who created these. There\'s nothing on pixiv -...

Re:Another Pinfu question and EMA rules

@Monado...something whatever I was the one that brought the example up. You\'re correct in blaming yourself for my, maybe overly harsh, joke on your reading comprehension skills. Since I brought the example up, I quite easily \"misconstrued\", as you so eloquently put it. I grow tired of this atmosp...

Re:Another Pinfu question and EMA rules

\"waiting ONLY\"

Clearly this hand is not waiting ONLY for a 6 to complete it, as it can win with a 9. This hand is still in tenpai.
Reading comprehension 0? My no-ten example had nothing to do with the pinfu example.
