Re: Who Else is In Japan?
Hi Benjamin, and mostek. I will be visiting Tokyo between 3-17 August this year. I would love to meet you there and play if possible. @Benjamin, I guess we will have a chance to meet at the ECR, I hope to talk to you there. Will you be back in Tokyo in August? If so, maybe you could guide me a littl...

Re:Ura Dora Strategy
I\'m not that good at Japanese yet.. sadly.. How many games do they play in the league? Or, how many \"kyoku\" does a game last? In short games I can totally understand why they\'d want to get rid of those extra han rules. In a long game, the difference in skill becomes more evident, but in short ga...

I see. Do you have any further information on the A-rules? I\'d like to know more about it.

Re:Ura Dora Strategy
Removing ura-dora from the game, in my opinion, wouldn\'t add to the strategy at all. The strategy in riichi mahjong is more focused on not dealing into opponents hands than making hands that are more valuable. After all, the tiles that come to you are random, and the hand you are making depends muc...

Re:Washizu Mahjong
Wow, I\'m impressed with those tiles. They did a really good job. I thought even though the tiles were transparent, I\'d have difficulty seeing what the other people had like in the anime. But even in the shot where the tiles were far away, I was able to perfectly see the hand. Those are high quali...

Re:Washizu Mahjong
Thanks!
Oh, there is also a mini set, thats probably the one you came across. This tiles of this set are standard, maybe 1 or 2 mm thinner at most.

Washizu Mahjong
Hi everyone! All the Akagi fans out there surely know what I mean by Washizu Mahjong. I\'ve been interested in this type of game since the day I watched Akagi, but contrary to my research, I couldn\'t find any information on it... I recently started a website with the intention of spreading Riichi i...

Re:Teaching Reach Mahjong to Beginners
I started a Riichi Mahjong student club at my university in Istanbul, Turkey. I\'ve been teaching mahjong for a year now, and because nobody plays mahjong let alone riichi here, it is really hard to keep people focused and motivated. Generally my methods are similar to whats been said above. I also ...
