Is it possible to win having declared 4 kantsu and a tanki-wait?
ie
Wouldn't it result in an abortive draw?
If yes, then how can you get the suukantsu yakuman?

Re: Do's and don'ts
I managed to translate most the first video, but I will continue it later because I still have some other things to do now... About walls - When the walls come up, place them a bit forward to make it easier to reach for your opponents. About discarding - When discarding, please use the same hand as ...

Re: Advance Mah Jong Guide
In other words: Hi, welcome to the forum, I also recently joined here. Don't be afraid to ask questions, there are enough experienced players (including people living in Japan and often visiting/running jansou) who'd gladly help. How long have you been playing? How did you get here? What made you st...

Re: Discussion regarding rule sets based around Riichi and M
I agree on most parts. The only mixed feelings I have with Riichi is that players who always play defensively do not get punished when they don't win (when somebody gets a ron on somebody else's discard). Luckily the yakitori rule covers that. I recently visited the local mahjong club and they play ...

Open and concealed
I see people who are in a suuankou non-tanki wait going for a tsumo, because if they ron it's a sanankou? With other hands, like with an iipeikou/sanankou, they can ron on the remaining tile necessary for the iipeikou/sanankou. Their description states that the yaku tiles have to be concealed. What'...

Re: Looking for a new set
I ordered a Take set (http://en.item.rakuten.com/trendone/1470423/) and I finally received it today (and a Junkmat). But I noticed a slight difference in weight between some tiles (4m is heavier than others), have others also noticed this? And the rhinestones of the red 5p tiles were sticking out a ...

Special hand names
Does anyone know where I can find the names of the special hands in Chinese (both Chinese Classical/Official (Mandarin) and Hong Kong (Cantonese)) with the Chinese writings?
